The oldest Story Slam in Minnesota. One of the first monthly story slams in the country.  Much like The Moth, each month 10 storytellers will be selected out of the hat to tell a 5 minute story on the theme for the evening.  Random audience judges select the winners by ranking them 1-10. Come share a story! You could be the next grand slam champion!

"It shouldn’t be a surprise to you that ultra-hip MPLS + STPL
has an open mic night dedicated to...sci-fi, fantasy, tales of the
supernatural and such. It also shouldn’t be a surprise that the
quality of the material is higher than an H.G. Wells zeppelin."

Got poems? Want to write? Want to build some community? Sundays 12-2 at Strike Theatre! Ages 16+. Run by Ollie Schminkey.

MISSION STATEMENT: Founded in 2014, Well-Placed Commas is a 16+ collaborative arts space centered around poetry and community building. The space aims to provide a constructive workshop space for people from various types of communities, especially those that might not otherwise have access to a writing workshop and/or editing space. We hope to help amplify people’s voices and support them in presenting their narratives, teaching them various writing techniques and providing a brave space to share work. Here at WPC, we also believe in both free speech and holding people accountable for their words. Dialogue is encouraged, and absolutely everyone (16 years of age or older) is welcome!
